A Chat List for e-Publishers

If you are currently involved or sincerely interested in e-publishing as an independent publisher (not an affiliate of a larger publisher) you may join the Yahoo group by sending an email from your e-publishing site to: Ind-e-Pubs-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Topics for discussion include all aspects of operating an electronic publishing business with accent on selection of manuscripts, methods of promoting and handling Internet sales, technical questions relating to production of e-Books of all types (including quick-print products), dealing with authors and vendors, security of e-books, etc. and many other topics I haven't mentioned. You bring it up, and the list will respond. Questions to the moderator can be addressed to: Ind-e-pubs-owner@yahoogroups.com This chat list is for you, independent e-publishers, with the problems, advantages, and pleasures that go with this activity, and we need to hear from you, on the List, for ideas of what you would like to have available to members, discuss with members, etc. We have a few pages of displays for members at this time: a list of Digital Print Printers that have indicated their interest in being included for the information of the members, and another page of Examples of poor printing/packaging from experiences of members. Just started is a section for standards as proposed or put in place by various vendors and suppliers for e-book and print book publishing, to be found at the Standards pages. Other displays can be added to the site, according to wishes of the members. Let's talk about it! Obviously-promotional messages will not be permitted, and members violating this principle will be dropped. (There are ways of getting your information across without distressing others by providing information applicable to the skill, art, and production of e-published books. You are encouraged to include your commercial information and web site address in your Signature, but please limit this Signature to no more than 5 lines of text. See example below)
